Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has issued a directive to develop a mobile app and online portal designed to assist farmers in leveraging better market prices and gaining real-time insights into market conditions.

Farmers from different districts can also use this digital platform to exchange information about crops, essential agricultural supplies, and market-related data. The initiative is expected to foster a direct and transparent connection between farmers and consumers, minimizing reliance on middlemen and enhancing farmer earnings. Soren delivered these remarks while presiding over the fourth meeting of the Sidho-Kanho Agriculture and Forest Produce State Co-operative Federation Ltd.

Further plans include boosting the production, processing, and marketing of Jharkhand's unique forest produce, such as lac, tamarind, silk, and 'tasar.' An action plan will be launched to ensure execution within a set timeframe. Soren reiterated the government's focus on strengthening the rural economy, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts across departments to support farmers throughout the farming process, from production to marketing.
