In a heartbreaking incident on Tuesday, a deadly collision on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura has resulted in 13 confirmed fatalities, according to District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh. Victims include individuals from Prayagraj, Gonda, and Azamgarh, with authorities working to identify others involved in the tragic accident.

The catastrophic crash left over 60 individuals injured, who are currently receiving medical attention in several hospitals. The District Magistrate has called for a thorough magisterial inquiry to determine the cause of the accident and to devise strategies to prevent such future incidents. An Additional District Magistrate is tasked with submitting a detailed report.

Police are in the process of filing an FIR, while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been apprised of the situation. Families of the deceased are set to receive Rs 2 lakh as compensation. The accident, involving 11 vehicles, led to a massive fire, tackled by 14 fire tenders. DNA samples will be used to identify the bodies as medical teams continue their investigation. Low visibility from dense fog is reported as a contributing factor.
