On Tuesday, Waaree Energies announced a significant achievement: its high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) cells have been approved by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy's Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II. The approval, part of the third revision of ALMM List-II, came into effect on December 15, 2025.
This inclusion recognizes the advanced solar cell manufacturing plant located in Degam, Chikhli, Navsari district of Gujarat, which now boasts a total approved annual capacity of 5.25 gigawatts. The facility includes 3,923 megawatts of N-type TOPCon cells and 1,328 megawatts of P-type PERC bifacial cells, bolstering Waaree Energies' position in next-generation solar cell technologies.
Sunil Rathi, Executive Director of Waaree, emphasized the importance of the ALMM List-II recognition, viewing it as a pivotal step in solidifying domestic backward integration for India's solar value chain. This latest endorsement builds upon Waaree's existing presence in ALMM List-I for solar modules and highlights its continuous investments in cutting-edge manufacturing platforms.
