Honoring a Legacy: UP PAC's Bravery and Dedication Celebrated

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) on its foundation day, emphasizing the bravery displayed by its personnel during critical national security events. He recalled the courageous acts of PAC officers stationed at the Parliament during the December 13, 2001, terror attack, noting their role in neutralizing the assailants.
The Chief Minister further commended the PAC's valor during the July 2005 terrorist assault on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya. A collaborative effort involving the CRPF, PAC, and Uttar Pradesh Police successfully thwarted the attack by confronting and eliminating the terrorists. The foundation day celebration also showcased multiple demonstrations of the PAC's capabilities in the presence of Adityanath.
Adityanath paid tribute to the PAC's illustrious 78-year history, highlighting its discipline and steadfast commitment to public safety in India's most populous state. Established in 1948 through the amalgamation of the U.P. Military Police and the U.P. State Armed Constabulary, the PAC was designed to lessen the need for army intervention in severe law and order scenarios. Over the decades, its service has extended nationwide.
