As tensions escalate in Iran, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah shared details from a conversation with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar concerning the safety of Indians in the region. Abdullah expressed gratitude for Jaishankar's assurances regarding protective measures for Jammu and Kashmir residents stranded in Iran.

On social media platform X, Abdullah detailed the External Affairs Ministry's efforts to address the situation. Concurrently, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti pressed for immediate intervention to secure the safe return of Indian students caught amidst the turmoil.

The Indian Embassy in Tehran has advised all Indian nationals to leave Iran promptly. Citizens are urged to take necessary precautions, avoid protest zones, and stay connected with the Indian Embassy. Emergency contact helplines have been provided for assistance.
