Ukrainian Drone Attack Sparks Fires at Taman Port
A Ukrainian drone attack has caused significant damage to Russia's Black Sea port of Taman. The attack resulted in injuries and fires at the site, impacting oil and commodity storage. Additionally, strikes targeted the city of Sochi and Yurovka village, reigniting tensions in the region over energy infrastructure.
A Ukrainian drone strike has reportedly damaged Russia's Black Sea port of Taman, which is crucial for handling oil products, grain, coal, and commodities. This incident, confirmed by Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of Russia's Krasnodar region, occurred on Sunday.
The attack led to injuries for two individuals and damage to an oil storage tank, a warehouse, and terminals in Volna village, located at Taman port. More than 100 workers have been deployed to extinguish multiple fires at the site.
Other strikes on Sochi and Yurovka caused minor damage. This surge in attacks comes after a U.S.-brokered moratorium expired, reigniting Ukraine's focus on Russian energy infrastructure. Last year, Taman port shipped approximately 4.16 million metric tons of oil products.
