A wedding celebration in Rajasthan's Tonk district took a tragic turn on Wednesday evening when a pickup vehicle accidentally reversed into a crowd of dancing revelers, resulting in the deaths of two children and serious injuries to three others, according to local police.
The incident occurred during a 'Bindoli' procession outside the home of Sagar Keerm, whose nuptials were scheduled for February 19. The vehicle, which was carrying a DJ setup, lost control and moved backward into the gathering, said SHO Jaimal Singh.
Locals quickly responded, rescuing the victims trapped beneath the pickup. Two children, Kuldeep, aged 8, and Dilkhush, aged 10, succumbed to their injuries. Angered relatives assaulted the driver before authorities intervened and took him in for questioning.
