The ongoing conflict in the Middle East sparked concerns over LPG supply in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, causing a rush at local distribution centers on Tuesday. Despite consumer panic, district officials confirmed that there was no shortage of LPG cylinders and assured sufficient availability.
Consumers rushed to various distribution centers, worried as delayed deliveries of LPG cylinders sparked fears. Prashant, a local resident, expressed concern over the delay in receiving his booked cylinder. Hotel and restaurant owners also raised alarms about commercial LPG supply, which appeared prioritized for domestic consumers.
District Supply Officer Anjani Kumar Singh labeled the panic unnecessary, urging calm among consumers. He highlighted that 16,000 cylinders had been dispatched against a daily demand of 15,000 across 83 centers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed administrative measures to prevent hoarding and confirmed the normalcy in fuel supply across the state.
