On Tuesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla proposed the creation of groups of Members of Parliament (MPs) to enhance their grasp of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna, a major insurance scheme for farmers.

This suggestion arose during a parliamentary session when Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed additional questions related to the scheme. The Speaker's initiative aims to foster better understanding among MPs about the insurance provision, which protects farmers against crop losses due to natural calamities.

Minister Chouhan expressed agreement with Birla's suggestion, indicating potential development in educating lawmakers on the essential aspects of this critical agricultural policy.
