The International Energy Agency has raised alarms over anticipated oil supply disruptions stemming from the Middle East. The critical Strait of Hormuz remains closed, compounding concerns for Europe's energy sector.
According to Fatih Birol, head of the agency, the supply loss in April is expected to be double that of March. He underscores an existing shortfall in jet fuel and diesel, primarily impacting Asia, with predictions that the effects could reach Europe in the coming months.
Birol, speaking on a podcast with Nicolai Tangen of Norway's sovereign wealth fund, warns of broader implications for European markets, urging readiness for the impending energy strains.
