Tragic Romance: Couple's Final Leap Before Train

A young couple in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj reportedly died by suicide, jumping before a train due to familial opposition to their marriage. Eyewitnesses saw them hold hands during the fatal act. Police are investigating, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

A young couple, facing familial opposition to their union, allegedly died by suicide by jumping before a moving train near Bhagirath railway station in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj, authorities stated.

Nautanwa's Station House Officer, Purushottam Rao, reported on Wednesday that eyewitnesses observed the couple holding hands as they leapt in front of the Nautanwa-Gorakhpur Intercity Express.

The police revealed that the extreme measure was taken due to family disapproval, and investigations continue as the bodies undergo post-mortem examinations before being returned to family members.
