The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India has reassured that there are no payment issues associated with importing Iranian crude oil. Despite reports suggesting a diversion of an oil tanker en route to India, the ministry confirmed continued sourcing from diverse global suppliers.

The Aframax tanker Ping Shun was reported by ship-tracking firm Kpler to have changed its course to China. The ministry clarified this as normal within the trade, highlighting the flexibility and operational adjustments typical in the industry.

With over 40 countries as crude oil partners, India maintains its strategic oil requirements. Recent US sanctions waivers on Iranian oil provide more purchasing opportunities, crucial as Iran previously contributed significantly to India's import blend due to favorable terms.
