Madhya Pradesh Launches Digital Census and Tribal Welfare Initiatives

Madhya Pradesh kicked off its digital Census with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav urging citizens to participate. The state also hosted a workshop for tribal welfare, focusing on enhancing resources for tribal development. The Census will gather housing and population data digitally, marking India's 16th census.

As Madhya Pradesh embarks on a groundbreaking digital Census, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stepped up on Thursday to fill out his self-enumeration form, urging citizens to actively participate in the process. The digital self-enumeration phase runs from April 16 to April 30, aiming to assist in future developmental planning for public facilities.

House listing in Madhya Pradesh, alongside states like Andhra Pradesh and Chandigarh, will commence from May 1 to May 30. Census 2027 will be a landmark event as it incorporates digital platforms for self-enumeration, set to unfold in two phases. Initial efforts focus on housing data collection, covering asset conditions and household amenities.

In a bid to uplift the tribal population, the Madhya Pradesh government, led by Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, inaugurated a 'State-Level Tribal Sub-Plan Workshop'. This initiative is intended to channel more resources towards tribal development, aiming to bring tribal communities on par with other social groups.
