The Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) has been pivotal for over 74,589 farming families in Jammu and Kashmir, with achievements such as establishing 1.11 lakh units across all 20 districts, a government official revealed.
Additional Chief Secretary, Ashish Chandra Verma, noted that while the program covers all districts geographically, it touches just 8.1% of PM-Kisan beneficiaries, signaling a potential for expansion. Initiated in March 2024, the HADP aims to revamp agriculture with 29 targeted projects enhancing seed quality, specialized crop cultivation, mechanization, and market linkages.
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo emphasized the programme's financial viability, foreseeing a recovery of the Rs 450 crore subsidy in about 2.6 years. To boost utilization, he urged increased outreach and better service delivery at Kisan Khidmat Ghars. Managing Director J&K Bank, Amitava Chatterjee, suggested digital improvements for greater efficiency.
