Odisha Boosts Veterinary Infrastructure with New Initiatives
Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated several veterinary projects including hospitals, animal aid centres, and a molecular laboratory. The initiatives are part of a larger effort to enhance the animal resources sector in the state, with MoUs for additional projects and a focus on improving animal feed quality.

In a significant boost to veterinary services, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated 76 veterinary hospitals and four animal aid centers, all amounting to an impressive Rs 100 crore investment. The initiatives were announced during the state-level celebration of World Veterinary Day.
Adding to the occasion, agreements were signed with six public sector undertakings for constructing 219 additional veterinary hospitals and labs, including a state-level molecular lab at Phulanakhara, Cuttack. This lab alone will cost approximately Rs 10 crore. Efforts to enhance the state food laboratory for animal feed quality testing will receive Rs 6 crore in funding.
Majhi also turned attention to fishermen, launching a fish landing center and improving Bhadrak district's Dhamra Fish Port. Highlighting the importance of diversified agriculture, the CM emphasized allied farming methods to increase farmers' incomes, noting the benefits already provided to dairy farmers under the Kamdhenu Yojana.
