Tragedy Spurs Inspection: Karnataka Government Orders Hospital Safety Overhaul

In response to the tragic collapse of a compound wall at the Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hospital in Bengaluru's Shivajinagar area, the Karnataka government has launched a statewide inspection of all hospital buildings and compound walls to ensure safety measures are up to standard.
The incident, which claimed the lives of seven individuals, including three children, has prompted state officials to take urgent action. Karnataka Minister Sharan Prakash Patil visited the site and confirmed an expert team will inspect hospitals, including the affected Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hospital and Victoria Hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah have announced compensation for the victims' families, while a judicial inquiry has been demanded by Opposition Leader R Ashoka. The government is committed to implementing preventive measures as investigations continue.
