K Kavitha Unveils New Political Chapter with Telangana Rakshana Sena
K Kavitha has officially launched the Telangana Rakshana Sena, retaining the TRS initials. Approved by the Election Commission, this move comes as she distances herself from BRS. Promising OBC reservations and addressing regional issues, Kavitha's new party is seen as a challenge by other political entities.

The Election Commission has officially given the green light to Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS), a newly minted political party spearheaded by K Kavitha. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar confirmed this approval, marking a significant step in the political career of Kavitha, who earlier proposed Telangana Rashtra Sena as the party's name.
K Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, inaugurated her party at Advaya Convention in Medchal on April 25. This launch marks seven months since her departure from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Kavitha emphasized the importance of retaining the initials 'TRS', citing two decades of dedication to the name's legacy and the achievement of Telangana state.
In a direct critique of BRS and Congress, K Kavitha highlighted unmet aspirations of Telangana's youth and farmers. She pledged to advocate for 50 per cent reservation for Other Backward Class Communities (OBCs), focusing predominantly on regional concerns. The formation of TRS has led to varied political reactions, with BRS and BJP leaders expressing skepticism over its impact on the state's political landscape.
