In a decisive move that redefined its counter-terrorism strategy, India has established a new doctrine through Operation Sindoor. The operation, a response to the Pahalgam terror attack, eliminated distinctions between government sponsors of terrorism and actual perpetrators, marking a significant shift in India's security approach, experts noted at the ANI National Security Summit 2.0.
Tilak Devasher, former NSA advisory board member, emphasized that this operation demonstrated India's intent and capability to target terror infrastructure in Pakistan. He stressed the importance of sustaining this doctrinal change, which treats acts of terror as acts of war, irrespective of the enemy's identity.
Sushant Sareen, Senior Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, highlighted the need for India to master narrative warfare, underscoring the power of information dissemination. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh lauded Operation Sindoor as a testament to India's unified military prowess and his government's unwavering commitment to combating terrorism.
