The siblings, Santhosh, 17, and Sanjai, 15, were eagerly waiting for their board exam results. After arriving at their aunt's house in Gopaliparai hamlet, they decided to take a bath in the nearby Lower Bhavani Project canal.

Unfortunately, the outing turned fatal. Venturing into deeper waters, both boys disappeared, prompting concern when they failed to return home. Their aunt's quick response led to the involvement of the Fire and Rescue Services.

The rescue team, after a brief search, located the brothers' bodies. The Arachalure police have registered the case as a drowning incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to this heartbreaking event.
