The Udhampur-Kathua-Doda parliamentary constituency has landed a substantial ₹1,524.46 crore slice from the Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana-IV allocation, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced. This sum accounts for nearly 43% of the ₹3,566 crore earmarked for rural roads in Jammu and Kashmir for the 2025-26 cycle.

Dedicated to bridging connectivity gaps in remote, hilly terrains, the funds will facilitate the construction of 652.51 km of new roads, forming 41% of the planned 1,600 km across the Union Territory. The project encompasses 121 road works designed to deliver all-weather connectivity to 138 previously isolated habitations.

Singh expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for their support. He emphasized the necessity of timely, quality completion of these infrastructure projects to bolster the region’s socio-economic fabric, revolutionizing access in challenging geographical areas.
