Ukraine Escalates Drone Strikes on Russian Energy Targets

Ukraine launched extensive drone strikes across Russia, targeting key infrastructures like the Baltic Sea port of Primorsk and several vessels. Ukraine has intensified its drone offensive against Russia, targeting significant infrastructures including the Baltic Sea port of Primorsk. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reported substantial damage to oil facilities, stating that Ukrainian forces continue to develop their long-range strike capabilities.

Over 60 drones were intercepted as they attacked Primorsk and other sites, leading to significant damage but no oil spills, according to regional authorities. The offensive also included attacks on sea vessels, including tankers once utilized for oil transport.

The Kremlin noted that these attacks might spur further increases in global oil prices by reducing market supply. However, they acknowledged that higher prices could potentially offset reduced export volumes through increased revenues.
