Himachal Pradesh Pensioners Meet CM with Renewed Demands Amid Party Training Drive

A delegation representing the Himachal Pradesh Pensioners Joint Front, spearheaded by President Atma Ram, made their case to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday. They presented a charter of demands to the Chief Minister, who assured them of the government's commitment to pensioners' welfare even amidst financial constraints.
Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized that the state has taken significant steps toward employee and pensioner welfare, including reinstating the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for 1.36 lakh employees, albeit with halted Union Government financial support. He underscored the state’s efforts in settling pay arrears and dues for senior pensioners and retired Class-IV employees.
Alongside the pensioners' meeting, HPCC President Vinay Kumar unveiled a series of training programs aimed at fortifying party organization at grassroots levels. These initiatives focus on harnessing modern communication tools to engage the public more effectively, signifying a concerted effort to energize and equip party workers across the region.
