In a tragic incident on Wednesday, two individuals were killed and another critically injured after their car hit an electric pole on National Highway-44 in Gwalior district, leading to a fire, police reported. The vehicle was returning from a wedding in Gwalior when the accident occurred near Arru Tiraaha around 2 a.m.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Robin Jain detailed that the collision happened due to excessive speed, causing an electric surge that ignited the car. The presence of flammable materials like crackers exacerbated the blaze, resulting in fatalities on the scene.

Emergency response teams quickly arrived, managing the situation and hospitalizing the injured survivor. A comprehensive investigation is underway, with police examining CCTV footage and other evidence to uncover the accident's details. The incident adds to a recent spate of road tragedies in the region.
