Food festival brings authentic Punjabi flavours to Delhiites

Bringing the vibrant flavours and culinary traditions of Punjab to the capital, an ongoing food festival at Novotel New Delhi City Centre is offering diners an immersive taste of the state's hearty cuisine and festive hospitality. Hosted at Food Exchange, the all-day dining restaurant at the hotel, ''Punjab Da Swad'' celebrates Punjab's rich culinary heritage through a specially curated buffet featuring traditional delicacies, live counters, and authentic home-style flavours. From popular appetisers such as 'Palak di tikki', 'Kande di bhaji', 'Lawrence road ka chicken tikka', 'Amritsari machhi' and 'Mutton shammi kebab' to robust curries and mains including 'Dal makhani', 'Chole bhature', 'Bhuna gosht', 'Tari wala gosht', 'Pind da kukkad', 'Masala fish curry' and 'Butter chicken', the festival showcases an elaborate spread of Punjabi favourites. The 10-day culinary experience also features desserts such as 'Tilla kulfi', 'Besan ki burfi' and 'Pinni', bringing the warmth and unadulterated sweetness of a traditional Punjabi feast to the table. ''Punjabi food doesn't believe in restraint; it's rich, expressive, and meant to be enjoyed fully. With 'Punjab Da Swad', we look forward to bringing that philosophy to life through a menu that is hearty, flavourful, and deeply rooted in tradition,'' said chef Dilip Singh, chef de cuisine at the hotel. The dinner buffet, priced at Rs 2,495, will continue till May 17.
