MSCI Global Indexes Shake-Up: What's Changing in 2026
MSCI announced significant changes to its global indexes, affecting numerous securities. The MSCI Global Standard Indexes will see 49 additions and 101 deletions. Similarly, other MSCI indexes, like ACWI Investable Market and Frontier Markets, will undergo revisions. These changes take effect on May 29, 2026.
In a major announcement, MSCI declared a comprehensive overhaul of its global indexes, with numerous securities being either added or removed. This restructuring, which includes the MSCI Global Standard Indexes, will result in 49 new securities and the removal of 101.
The revisions extend to other indexes such as the MSCI ACWI Investable Market and the MSCI Frontier Markets. Both will see significant additions and deletions as MSCI aims to refine its global market representations.
All alterations are set for implementation on May 29, 2026. Notably, the changes will not apply to securities classified under the MSCI Bangladesh Indexes during this review period.
