In a pointed critique, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) spokesperson TKS Elangovan criticized the recent appointment of TVK spokesperson and astrologer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel as Officer on Special Duty to Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister, C Joseph Vijay. Elangovan asserted that involving an astrologer in government affairs raises questions about the reliance on astrology over evidence-based decision-making.

Elangovan further elaborated on the DMK's opposition to caste-based segregation, highlighting that South India prides itself on an equanimous society unlike the historical class divides prevalent in North India. He reiterated that Sanatan Dharma, which suggests the indestructibility of Manudharma, misaligns with South Indian culture, a stance rooted in the DMK's long-standing policies.

Amidst these political exchanges, Elangovan defended the DMK's fiscal discipline and social welfare initiatives, countering accusations of financial mismanagement. He affirmed that the state's budget has notably benefited underprivileged communities. Contradicting claims by Chief Minister Vijay regarding financial mismanagement, Elangovan emphasized the transparency and efficiency of the DMK's governance.
