In a move towards sustainable practices, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has initiated the use of electric vehicles and reduced the entourage accompanying him. This is in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for a reduction in fuel consumption, citing national interests amid a 'war-like situation'.
Speaking at Thane, Shinde urged citizens and political factions to support the central government's austerity measures, emphasizing the need for fuel conservation to curb India's crude oil import costs. By traveling electrically, Shinde hopes to set an example for all, aligning with Modi's 'nation first' ethos.
The state embraces this green transition, declaring that all Shiv Sena ministers will shift to electric vehicles where viable. Furthermore, planned government trips abroad are being called off, underscoring a commitment to Modi's fuel-saving doctrine. Opposition parties are encouraged to unite rather than politicize this initiative.
