The Cyberabad Police have ramped up their investigation by forming five special teams to locate Bandi Sai Bhagirath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, implicated in a POCSO case. A lookout circular has been issued, and officials are utilizing Call Detail Records (CDR) and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to trace his whereabouts.
According to a senior police officer, the special teams are diligently working to apprehend Bhagirath, with charges already filed under various sections, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for outraging modesty and sexual harassment, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The case originated from a complaint by the mother of the alleged victim, citing false promises of marriage and inappropriate conduct by Bhagirath.
In a dramatic turn, Bhagirath labeled the allegations as retaliatory, referencing his own complaint filed the same day, accusing the victim's family of extortion. Amidst these developments, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has sought judicial intervention to remove allegedly defamatory content linking him to the case. Legal proceedings continue as Bhagirath seeks anticipatory bail from the Telangana High Court.
