NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar has expressed strong criticism towards the Centre regarding the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, labeling it a significant failure to act. Joining voices with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Pawar described the incident as 'not suicide but murder,' reflecting the severe frustration experienced by students.

Pawar elaborated on the mental strain facing nearly 24 lakh students vying for a limited number of seats, highlighting the immense pressure on those investing heavily in coaching. He emphasized the need for decisive action by the government, noting multiple arrests, including a significant one in Latur, related to the leak.

In response, BJP leader Prakash Reddy rebuked the Opposition for blaming the Centre, defending the CBI investigation initiated against the accused. Highlighting past inaction by Congress, Reddy disclosed planned changes for future exams, including a shift to online formats starting in 2027, to deter further leaks.
