Fertilizer Research Contest: Advancing Agricultural Innovation
The Soluble Fertilizer Industry Association has launched its second research contest, inviting contributions from scientists and academics. The contest focuses on plant nutrition and specialty agri-inputs, with topics including nutrient management, SOMS technologies, and soil health improvement. The finale will occur at the Speciality Fertilizer Summit in 2026.
The Soluble Fertilizer Industry Association (SFIA) has initiated the second edition of its research contest, aiming to foster advancements in plant nutrition and specialty agricultural inputs. Open to scientists, researchers, and students, the competition spans diverse topics, ranging from agronomic research on Soluble & Organic fertilisers (SOMS) to the evaluation of conventional subsidized fertilizers.
Participants are encouraged to explore manufacturing processes, advancements in efficiency and scalability, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, soil health research, and innovative approaches to difficult soil conditions. Prominent subjects include pH management, alkalinity correction, and nutrient availability.
The contest will culminate in an event named 'Thesis Showdown' at the Speciality Fertilizer Summit – SOMS 2026 in Ahmedabad. The top three entries will receive monetary awards. Previously highlighted research featured ammonia recovery from wastewater and robotic spraying systems, earning cash prizes for their innovative contributions.
