Samsung Electronics says union's demand for pay increase was unacceptable

​Samsung ‌Electronics said in a ​statement on ‌Wednesday that the company could not accept the ‌South Korean union's ‌demand for a pay increase, after the ⁠two ​sides ⁠failed to reach a ⁠deal during government-mediated negotiations.

The ​company said the size ⁠of the increase ⁠that ​the union was demanding at ⁠a loss-making division was ⁠unacceptable.
