The Aam Aadmi Party has achieved significant victories in Punjab's municipal elections, amid claims by the state Congress president, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, that 750 of their candidates' documents were unjustly rejected. Warring noted the praiseworthy performance of Congress despite these alleged discrepancies.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann commended voters for endorsing development over 'politics of hatred.' During a press conference, Mann highlighted that AAP's victories overshadow the combined results of the Congress, BJP, and Akali Dal, projecting AAP to win nearly 1,000 seats.

The municipal elections witnessed participation from 7,555 candidates across the state, with the AAP fielding 1,801, Congress 1,550, BJP 1,316, and Shiromani Akali Dal 1,251 candidates. Amid tight security, vote counting for 75 Municipal Councils and 20 Nagar Panchayats began, cementing AAP's stronghold in Punjab's civic landscape.
