The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took a crucial step on Monday in the ongoing investigation into the high-profile Twisha Sharma dowry-harassment case. The team visited the home of Giribala Singh, a former district judge accused in the case, to recreate the crime scene. Using a dummy body, investigators gathered evidence, with Singh and her son Samarth Singh present, aiming to decipher the tragic events surrounding Sharma's demise.

A day earlier, Noida witnessed a poignant silent protest as Twisha Sharma's family and supporters demanded justice for her untimely death. Sharma, who resided in Noida but was married and living in Bhopal, allegedly suffered mental torture and dowry harassment that led to her death on May 12. The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, form the legal backdrop for the allegations.

Twisha's family, led by her brother Major Harshit Sharma, remains hopeful that the truth will emerge as investigations deepen. In a symbolic gesture reflecting her connection to Rishikesh, Twisha's ashes were immersed in the Ganga River. Meanwhile, the accused, Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh, have been placed under CBI custody for five days for further questioning, as sanctioned by Special Judge Shobhana Bhalave of the Bhopal District court.
