In an event celebrating the start of the new academic year, Chief Minister VD Satheesan reopened schools across Kerala on Monday, inaugurating the ceremony at the Pattom Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram. The occasion was marked by the presence of Education Minister N Shamsudheen, who expressed enthusiasm about welcoming students back.
In a move to enhance administrative efficiency, the Kerala government announced district-wise responsibilities for ministers. The Chief Minister's Office released a statement detailing the assignments across the state's 14 districts, including Thiruvananthapuram, where Minister CP John has been appointed, and Kollam with Shibu Baby John at the helm.
Separately, Chief Minister Satheesan intervened in a controversial suspension of a school principal, S Javad, over a Facebook post. The principal, who was suspended two days before retirement, saw his suspension order revoked as neither the Chief Minister nor his office had filed the complaint leading to the disciplinary action.
