Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in a virtual address at the prize distribution ceremony of the 'Niti Extreme Ultra Run', unveiled a series of initiatives designed to boost tourism in the state's Chamoli district. The event, occurring from May 31 to June 2 in Niti Valley, highlighted the government's commitment to promoting tourism activities in border regions, with a focus on enhancing local community livelihoods.

The state government plans to foster community-based tourism in the villages of Niti, Malari, Kosha, Farkiya, Bampa, Gurguti, Kailashpur, and Mehargaon in Chamoli. This initiative will see the development of community homestays and necessary infrastructure for supporting rural tourism. Furthermore, new signage and viewpoint facilities will be installed across Niti Valley to amplify visitor convenience and enrich their overall experience.

In a significant boost to border tourism, Dhami announced the establishment of a 'Seema Darshan Kendra' or Border Tourism Interpretation Centre in the Rimkhim and Barahoti areas. This center will underscore the strategic and cultural importance of the region. Additionally, the development of essential infrastructure at Dupfudhar Ground in Gamshali village aims to promote adventure tourism, hosting large-scale events. These developments are expected to significantly impact tourism and economy in Niti Valley and surrounding areas.
