The Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Kavinder Gupta, emphasized the national importance of the Chenab-Beas Link Tunnel Project, stating it would significantly enhance the management of India's water resources. During a press meet in Shimla, Gupta underscored that domestic needs should take precedence in resource allocation, particularly benefitting Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.

Gupta addressed historical and ongoing tensions with Pakistan, referencing decisions made during the Partition of 1947. He accused Pakistan of destabilizing India through terrorism, despite India's efforts to foster amicable ties. Gupta highlighted the robust response of India's security forces to any provocations.
