Among those joining the Cabinet are prominent figures such as Ashwini Ray Sarkar, Ashok Singhal, and Pijush Hazarika. The expansion of the Cabinet comes in the wake of Sarma's re-election and the Bharatiya Janata Party's resounding victory in the Assembly elections, securing 102 of 126 seats.

This development aligns with the Chief Minister's strategic meeting with President Droupadi Murmu. In their discussion, Sarma outlined plans focusing on economic growth and investment attraction, promising enhanced public services across the state.
