In a decisive move against unlawful activities, Baramulla Police on Saturday apprehended Haseena Begum, wife of Mohd Yousf Bhat, under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act. Her detention followed orders from the District Magistrate due to links to multiple criminal cases across the region, emphasizing ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security.

Haseena Begum was arrested on May 30 and is currently held in District Jail Bhaderwah. Authorities underline that stringent legal measures will persist against those jeopardizing public safety. Police action is part of broader efforts to curb acts that threaten the region's order and security, delivering a strong message of zero tolerance to such activities.

Parallelly, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore have seized property worth Rs 20 Lakhs belonging to Majid Ahmad Sofi, alias Bisati, involved in terrorist activities. Operating from Pakistan-PoK, Sofi is linked with Hizbul Mujahideen, coordinating attacks in Kashmir. The property was attached after due legal proceedings, marking a significant step in dismantling the terror infrastructure.
