Deputy Commissioner of Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, spearheaded a public outreach initiative under the Block Diwas scheme at Panchayat Seri. Residents of the area voiced numerous concerns, particularly regarding drainage, electricity, street lighting, and water supply, bringing into focus the administration's responsiveness to local issues.
During his address, Khan recounted the devastation wrought by a cloudburst in Ramban earlier this year, highlighting approved plans for flood mitigation and disaster management. He reiterated that the issue of inadequate drainage at Seri, previously flagged by residents, was under the administrative microscope once more, with promises of inclusion in approved protection plans.
Recognizing the challenges in securing consistent electricity supply in the hilly terrain of Ramban, Khan emphasized ongoing efforts to prevent disruptions during adverse weather. He also revealed immediate efforts to bolster street lighting with the installation of five new lights, alongside plans to provide solar alternatives. On water supply, Khan guaranteed collaborative dialogue to expedite filtration plant projects to address resident concerns.
