Congress leader Sachin Pilot paid tribute to his father and former Union Minister Rajesh Pilot on the occasion of Prerna Diwas. Rajesh Pilot, who tragically died in 2000, had made significant contributions as the Union Minister for Telecommunications, Internal Security, and Environment.

During the tribute, Sachin highlighted his father's efforts to foster unity and expressed hope for the continuation of his legacy. Rajesh, originally from a small village in Uttar Pradesh, had a remarkable journey from working as a milkman to serving in the Indian Air Force, eventually delving into politics with encouragement from Indira Gandhi.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other party leaders also acknowledged Rajesh Pilot's dedication to farmers and marginalized communities. Kharge praised him as a symbol of simplicity and courage. He additionally criticized the central government for ongoing issues such as the NEET paper leak and rising fuel prices, stressing the need for opposition unity against the ruling party.
