In a breakthrough, Delhi Police have arrested the suspect in the murder of 40-year-old Azharuddin, whose body was discovered near Khajuri Khas metro station earlier this week. Officials confirmed the arrest was made following a meticulous investigation by a dedicated police team. The case, registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), has seen a swift progression thanks to significant efforts spearheaded by Inspector JP Meena and his team.
Identified as 27-year-old Shifayat from Chand Bagh, the accused was apprehended after a detailed technical analysis and evidence collection process. During an intense interrogation, Shifayat revealed his friendship with Azharuddin, adding that a minor disagreement over drugs led to an altercation. The confrontation allegedly escalated when Azharuddin slapped Shifayat, prompting a deadly retaliation that involved a stone piece.
In another tragic incident on Thursday, a young man was reportedly killed during a robbery gone wrong in Delhi's Nand Nagri area. Preliminary police findings suggest the victim was strangled during the robbery attempt. As the investigation into both incidents continues, these cases have heightened local concerns and put law enforcement on high alert.
