A Delhi court has approved bail for a woman implicated in a case of impersonation as Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials, citing the completion of the investigation and the filing of the chargesheet. The court reasoned that continuing her detention would serve no useful purpose. It was noted that another person is believed to be the main suspect in this scandal.
The decision was made by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Vinod Joshi at Saket Courts, in response to a bail petition from Pooja Rajput, related to a case registered at New Friends Colony Police Station. The defense argued that she was not the primary offender, according to the prosecution's narrative, no evidence was recovered from her, and she had already served significant time in custody.
Opposing the bail, the State maintained that Rajput was part of a conspiracy involving the impersonation of ED officials. They stressed the severity of the accusations and pointed out that the principal accused are still at large. Despite this, the court acknowledged that the recovery from Rajput’s residence was linked to a co-accused, and granted her bail with conditions to prevent interference with the judicial process.
