In the early hours of Tuesday, a fire broke out in over four shops at Baba Market in Govindpuram, triggering an immediate response from the fire department, according to officials. Chief Fire Officer Rahul Kumar reported that several fire tenders, including high-capacity water tankers and a foam tender, were dispatched upon receiving information about the blaze.

Despite facing initial challenges due to locked shutters, firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control. Authorities have confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries. The fire began around midnight, prompting prompt deployment of firefighting teams to the market area. Upon reaching the site, firefighters encountered locked shops, hindering access to extinguish the flames.

Kumar explained that the firefighting operation was delayed as teams had to break open the shutters before effectively addressing the fire. 'On June 16 around midnight, we received reports of a fire in four to five shops at Baba Market, Govindpuram,' he stated. 'Five fire vehicles, equipped with large-capacity water tanks and a foam tender, were sent immediately. Efforts were concentrated on accessing and controlling the fire after breaking the strong shutters. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.'

The fire was eventually subdued, and officials are investigating the cause while assessing the damage to shops and goods. Further details are awaited. This incident follows a separate fire at a Noida company on May 30, involving chemical storage, which had prompted a large-scale emergency response but resulted in no injuries.
