Sanjeev Kumar Singla appointed as next Ambassador to Israel

Sanjeev Kumar Singla has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the State of Israel, according to the press release of Ministry of External Affairs He belongs to the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) batch 1997 and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
He was serving as Private Secretary (PS) to Prime Minister Narendra Modi appointed in 2014. He was appointed as PS to PM after returning home from a posting in Indian Embassy in Israel's Tel Aviv. He has earlier worked as Director to the then former Foreign Secretary, Ranjan Mathai.
Mr. Singla will replace the 1990 IFS batch officer Pavan Kapoor assumed charge as the Ambassador to Israel on 9 March 2016.
