UK Justice Minister Gauke resigns after Boris Johnson wins

The United Kingdom (UK) Justice Minister David Michael Gauke has resigned from his post after the announcement of Boris Johnson's win of Conservative leadership. Gauke congratulated Johnson and said it was an honor for him to serve in the cabinet and he is looking forward to returning to backbenches tomorrow, serving people of South West Hertfordshire.

Earlier today British Minister of State at the Department for Education, Anne Milton also resigned from her post saying she has "grave concerns about leaving the EU without a deal". She said this was not an easy decision to make but she strongly believes that "the Parliament should continue to play a central role in approving a deal and that we must leave the EU in a responsible manner."

David Gauke announced on Sunday he would resign from the cabinet on Wednesday if Boris Johnson wins the Tory Party leadership contest and becomes prime minister warning that a no-deal Brexit would lead to national "humiliation."

U.K. Chancellor Philip Hammond also made the announcement that he would resign if Johnson becomes the prime minister.
