'29 pct fall in violations by Hajj pilgrims as compared to last year'

The governor Makkah Khalid Al-Faisal has announced that there has been a fall of 29 percent in violations by the Hajj pilgrims as compared to last year, according to Arab News.

More than 2.48 million pilgrims performed the haj this year compared to 2.37 million in 2018. More males than females went on the pilgrimage this year, 1,385,234 versus 1,104,172. Male haj pilgrims have consistently outnumbered females.

Pilgrims performed their haj rituals amid heavy rain in Mecca.
