Nigeria: Governor Okowa's sister-in-law kidnapped by gunmen

Unidentified gunmen have reportedly kidnapped sister-in-law of Delta State Governor and a well-known politician Ifeanyi Okowa, Punch Nigeria has reported. The incident reportedly happened in Asaba.

Elizabeth, who is the younger sister of Okowa's wife Dame Edith, was kidnapped on Monday night by unidentified gunmen.

A source contacted by Punch Nigeria claimed that although the matter was not placed on red alert, an intelligence-gathering has commenced and efforts are underway to rescue her unhurt. It is also being reported that the kidnappers have not yet tried to contact the family or any government official.
