Phase-II of COVID-19 vaccination in Telangana from March 1

Hyderabad, Feb 28 (PTI): The second phase of the vaccination drive against COVID-19 for priority age groups in Telangana would start from Monday, health officials said here.
The vaccination rollout programme forpeople aged above 60 and those between 45 and 59 years old with specified co- morbidities would be soft-launched in102 centres across the state initially, they said.
Thedrivewould be subsequently undertaken in 1,200 centres.
From March 1, the Health Department would take the vaccination to the community and the drive would be initially conducted in the 102 centres -- 45 public health facilities and 57 private health institutions, Director of Public Health (Telangana) G Srinivasa Rao told reporters on Sunday.
People must register for the vaccination through online.
To avoid over-crowding at vaccination centres, 200 beneficiaries would be offered vaccine slots on a single day, they said.
Officials had earlier said over 75 per cent of the health and frontline workers have already been vaccinated in the state during the previous round.
