In a groundbreaking move, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has greenlit an initiative to offer free renal and liver transplantation services up to Rs 3 lakh for eligible beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Muft Ilaj Yojana (MMMIY).
Health Minister Kamal Gupta announced on Monday that the BJP-led state's commitment to healthcare reform is exemplified by this approval, which will significantly benefit those requiring critical medical treatments. The scheme also includes a specialized renal and liver transplant package under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana - Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY-AB) scheme.
This initiative ensures that patients can undergo life-saving transplants at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak without facing prohibitive costs. The scheme aims to make essential healthcare accessible and is a significant step towards addressing financial barriers in medical treatments, offering hope and support to the most vulnerable sections of society.
