Tragic Accident at Pharmaceutical Plant Claims Life of Worker

One person, Pradeep Raut, died in an accident at Vasantha Chemicals Pvt Ltd in Gurjapalem, Anakapalli district. The incident occurred during reactor maintenance work. An inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident, attributed to malfunctioning safety valves.

A tragic accident at a pharmaceutical company in Gurjapalem, Anakapalli district claimed the life of a worker on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Pradeep Raut, 43, was a sweeper-cum-helper at Vasantha Chemicals Pvt Ltd.

The accident, confirmed by Anakapalli Superintendent of Police M Deepika Patil, occurred at 8.15 am while reactor maintenance was ongoing at block six of the facility. According to the district Collector's report, Raut was cleaning the room when lava accidentally fell on him.

Despite immediate efforts to rush him to NTR Government Hospital, doctors declared Raut brought dead. The SP announced an inquiry to determine the cause, noting that the accident was due to malfunctioning safety valves and a case has been registered under applicable legal sections.
